JENNA & KAYLEY | SURPRISE PROPOSAL | RALEIGH, NC

I don’t think you can even understand how much I love being part of a good surprise! Jenna asked me to be part of her plan in surprising her girlfriend Kayley and I was so honored! Jenna thought it all through and made sure the plan started almost 6 months before the actual engagement, Jenna asked me to give her a gift certificate so Kayley could think she had received a mini-season for Christmas to happen sometime in the spring. Again, I have never seen an engagement surprise so well planned out, and come the day of, all the beautiful details came together.

The craziest part though was right before I was supposed to start shooting — a couple of Jenna’s friends and I were moving the arch from the car to the right place — I witness my parked car getting hit by a cyclist, removing the car’s bumper and mirror. And no, not like a motorcycle, but a person on a bike. I made sure he was ok, got his number, and left to get ready. I collected myself to try and fool Kayley for a little bit longer as we walked to our designated spot. And the rest was history — all I had to do was shoot while Jenna got down on one knee to propose to Kayley. It was so sweet, and Kayley’s face said it all! I loved every moment of it and was so happy to see these two wonderful people get engaged.

And I wasn’t kidding about the car. We got it all figured out, and the biker guy was ok thank goodness, but he did some damage.
