MIKE & NATALIE | INTIMATE WEDDING CELEBRATION | WASHINGTON, DC
As everyone knows, this pandemic continues to change how people plan on having weddings. Mike and Natalie decided it would be best to have a small ceremony with just immediate family and then plan for a larger party next year. They both currently live in Washington, DC, and decided to book the War Memorial for the intimate celebration.
There are so many things I love about small weddings, and this day was no exception. Mike and Natalie had their first look at a nearby park, and we were able to hop in an uber to get their ceremony location. Chairs were delivered, everyone set up a small half circle while Natalie and her dad decided where they were going to walk down the aisle. No pressure, no stress, just a lovely way for people to be together and witness Natalie and Mike saying their vows. We were able to laugh at the number of cicadas and nats that decided to join the party, and I made them do their choreographed first dance twice just because.
They rented an Airbnb that we drove to for the reception, where drinks, dinner, and a hilarious short game of shoot-out on the basketball court took place. Mike and Natalie got to have their wedding in a city they call home with the people that mean the most to them, and I can’t wait for the reception party sometime next year!
