MICK & JORDAN / WOODSY BACKYARD WEDDING / WAKEFOREST, NC

Small forest wedding celebration in Wakeforest

Even though you tried so hard 2020, love is still not canceled. With everything going on this year, the world has been flipped upside down. I had a meeting with Jordan & Mick about final schedule plans for their wedding right before the world shut down. It was the beginning of March, and their wedding was in May. It wasn’t long after our talk that they decided it was going to be the best decision to postpone their big plans until the following year. But, they still wanted to get married. They didn’t want to wait another year, and I didn’t blame them! So even though it wasn’t the party they anticipated, they gathered with a couple of close family members and got married in the woods behind Jordan’s parents’ house. And maybe it is just because I am an absolute sucker for an intimate wedding, but it was pretty magical. Cafe lights hung from the trees, and Jordan sparkled in the sunlight in her sequined wedding dress as they said “I do” in front of the people they love the most. It was such a happy day, and the best part is next year, on their one-year anniversary, we will get to have the party with all their family and friends! This season of life has sucked in many ways, but how my heart is lifted up by those who find hope and happiness even when nothing goes the way it was originally planned. Cheers to you Jordan and Mick and celebrating love and life in the midst of a pandemic. Thanks for not canceling, and letting me be part of all the celebrations!
