Well, Wisconsin, you have me completely sold for summer weddings. Who ever knew July doesn’t have to be 110 degrees with a humidity of 1000% — not me. Addie and Adam’s wedding was as personal as it gets. I have know Addie pretty much since birth because growing up, my older sister and Addie were best friends. And since I was a little annoying sister, I made them include me in the fun at all times, therefore Addie became, pretty much, like my big sister too. When she asked me to capture her wedding, I was so thrilled that I got to be there to not only witness the marriage of these two people, but capture it so they would have those memories forever.

Addie and Adam both actually live in San Diego, but it was an easy to decision for them to get married at the Lake House in Wisconsin that Addie has been going to ever summer growing up. On top of that, this whole wedding was mainly about every single person who joined them on that day. Traveling from all over, normal wedding traditions didn’t stand in the way of a sweet, intimate ceremony by the water. Adam’s grandmother married them, and friends and family laughed and cheered from the audience as personal stories were told about the two love birds. It was perfection.

After the ceremony, we headed to the most rustic barn reception, completed with a pizza food truck and draft root beer that you can only have in this little town in Wisconsin. Toasts dominated the night as friends after family members stood up to say loving words to the couple and if I could give my couples superlatives these two would win for the best laughing couple I have ever captured. It made my heart glowed as they just chuckled endlessly with each other the whole day long.

Overall, everything about their day was so them — and that made that day so perfect. It was a day to celebrate a marriage, a friendship, the adventure that began when they started dating, and all those who have been lucky enough to know Addie and Adam. This simple, beautiful, wedding was one for the books for sure.

The most beautiful 70 person wedding in the heart of Raleigh this past May. I don’t know how she did it, but Somer was by far one of the most stunning brides I have ever seen, and on top of that she was about 7 month pregnant. It was such a sweet time celebrating these two coming together and the love that Gary and Somer have for each other is so genuine it hurts. Their vows brought tears to everyone around, and seeing them finally become a family was everything. Being part of their journey from engagement pictures, wedding pictures and even newborn pictures have been such a joy of my job this year. I almost feel like family myself!

My heart. Oh this wedding was special in every since of the word. If you guys need any catching up, Dana has been my best friend since sixth grade, and when she asked me to capture her intimate wedding ceremony, I was incredible thrilled. Not only did I get to see my best friend get married (when only 20 family member got to witness the actually ceremony), but I also got to capture her and her new husband on one of the most beautiful days of the years.

Looking back on this day, one of my favorite moment was spending time with Dana and Kevin afterwards and hearing all their thoughts about what just happened. Kevin was over-the-moon excited and couldn’t stop telling Dana how beautiful she looked, and Dana just was so couldn’t stop smiling. They were simply giddy.

After the ceremony, we ran, laughed, danced, though the forrest at Umstead park until the sun was pretty low, and then headed over to Chatham Station in Cary for the big reception part of the evening. After capturing some beautiful details shots, I was able to pass my camera over to my second shooter and enjoy the rest of evening as a guest. I loved everything about Dana & Kevin’s day, and it was wonderful to witness one of my dearest friends begin a whole new kind of adventure.
